Of Mice and Men Essay

 

Is George a hero? In of mice and men, George helps lennie in many different situations. He protects him and does what he needs to do be done for lennie. This shows that George is a hero!

          George helped lennie with pretty much everything since lennie was mentally retarded. George showed lennie how do his work that needed to be done. He helped him understand things, taught him new things and just helped him live his life the best he could.

          Also George protected lennie. Even though lennie was much bigger the n George he still protected him especially from getting in to trouble. George tried to teach lennie right from wrong. So that when lennie was by himself he would stay out of trouble. He also protected him when it came to the guys picking on George and taking advantage of him.

          George did whatever had to be done for lennie. When accidentally lennie killed curlys wife and all those men were looking for lennie so that they could kill him. George raced to find lennie before curley and the guys found him. George knew where lennie would go because he knew he would have listen to George and go to the place where George had told him to if he ever had been in trouble. When he got there George knew what had to be done and what he had to do he had to kill lennie before the guys got him. George felt that was what was best for lennie. He killed Lennie because he was lennies friend not only his hero.

          George was Lennies hero. He helped him, protected him and did what was best and had to be done for lennie. George being Lennie's hero lead to drastic measures. Being a Hero might always be rewarding in the end.
